History

In April 2005 a group of young people from as far as far north as the Bay of Islands through to South Auckland met at Mount Albert Grammar in Auckland to attend a RYLA course (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards). The week was fantastic, with many skills gained and strong friendships formed. In a bid to ensure that we stayed in contact and to also start giving something to both the national and international communities Rotaract Takapuna was formed.
Meanwhile on the other side of North Shore City in East Coast Bays another group of Rotaractors were in the process of forming a club. After a few meetings and group discussions the two clubs decided to merge to build their membership database and pool resources. We began meeting halfway between Takapuna and East Coast Bays, and soon became 'The Rotaract Club of Pupuke'. Supported by both the Takapuna and East Coast Bays Rotary clubs, we have moved in leaps and bounds with many successes and are now both chartered and incorporated.
In addition to the positions of President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, and District Rotaract Representative (DRR), we have five committees: International Services, Community Services, Club Services, Professional Development and Social (a.k.a. the Party-Down Round Table of Happiness...). Not to mention our ever diligent Sergeant - Simon!
We work hard, we have achieved some awesome results and we have a whole lot of fun!
